  I started a weight loss journey in late November 2011. I started to
  eat better and get active and living a healthier lifestyle. After a
  couple of rounds of a home video workout I was still missing
  something, I needed more. So that's when I decided to pay Animus
  CrossFit a visit. I decided to start off by starting the bootcamp
  program they offer, I was 34 going on 35 at the time and was afraid to
  jump into CrossFit immediately thinking I might get intimidated or
  hurt myself as I've seen or heard people do. I was stiff and my
  endurance and strength weren't all that. But the coaches at Animus,
  Carlos, Jenny, and Dayron worked with me, guided me through every
  movement and skill as I gradually got better and better. My fellow
  athletes are also amazing, everyone checks their ego at the door. The
  coaches helped me out with my nutrition and are always there to push
  me or catch me. I eventually graduated to CrossFit under the guidance
  of my coaches and have been a box junkie for the last three months.
  I'm stronger both mentally and physically, and I'm no longer stiff,
  I'm an athlete again. This is a great place to start a CrossFit
  journey. Small classes, no egos and genuinely a family type bond
  between our coaches and athletes. Our coaches are very approachable.
  What they have going in this CrossFit is unique. They have been such
  an instrumental part of my healthy lifestyle and its success but they
  will never take any credit for that, they would say "it's all you,"
  which I believe now. I'm 35 years old and I will kick my 18 year old
  version's butt. I'm running 5k's, Olympic weightlifting, and taking
  part in races such as Spartan Race and others and its only the
  beginning. They have inspired me to be the best me I can be and that
  can't be measured with any words. I am truly indebted to them for they
  have helped me regain my health and keep it. Thanks for believing in
  me.
